The team
Jamie Folsom
Partner
Jamie Folsom is a software development practitioner, consulting with scholars in a wide range of fields, managing technology projects with them, and collaboratively developing software tools to support their teaching and research.
Previously, he was lead developer for Hyperstudio, center for the Digital Humanities at MIT, where he worked on projects including Annotation Studio and the Comédie Française Registers Project, among others.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in French from Vassar College and a Master's degree in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
Nick Laiacona
Partner
Since founding Performant in 2006, Nick has worked with dozens of clients at universities throughout North America and Europe. Nick has acted as technical lead on digital projects funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health. Some of the software Nick has developed includes: Juxta, Digital Mappa, TextLab, and FairCopy.
Before Performant, Nick had a career as a game designer and producer in the computer game industry. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Drew University.
